Many Talents to Share

Peter Krautle has journeyed down many paths at BVMI: as a donor, business partner, and volunteer.

Peter is the Managing Partner of Louisa Voice, a company that provides voice solutions and IT support. They have made financial gifts to BVMI and helped us in other ways, too. As a business partner, Louisa Voice is the company BVMI calls for “all things IT,” starting with the installation of our new phone system a couple of years ago. The company even offers to sell a client’s old equipment at no charge – as long as the proceeds are donated to charity. After more than a little effort, Louisa Voice found a buyer for our old phones – and we gratefully accepted a check to help more BVMI patients.

On a personal level, Peter has learned a lot about BVMI as a volunteer. He’s joined us at outreach events, to share information about BVMI’s services with potential new patients. During the COVID -19 pandemic, he connected us with Feed the Front Lines NJ, which has fed many healthcare workers – while providing much-needed business to local restaurants and their employees.  As a result, BVMI was able to provide hundreds of hot, nutritious meals to our patients.

“Peter does a LOT for us,” said Amanda Missey, BVMI’s President and CEO. “He’s an amazing advocate for our work and our patients, whether it’s speaking at Rotary or to other business organizations. Or coming to BVMI on a moment’s notice to solve an IT issue! We’re lucky to have him in our corner.”

“Before moving to the US, I lived in Canada for many years,” said Peter. “It was eye-opening to see the differences between the two healthcare systems. So many people here don’t have – and cannot afford – medical insurance. They often end up not visiting the doctor so that they can buy food for their families or pay rent instead. BVMI meets a real need. I’ve had a chance to get to know their volunteers and staff. It’s simply a first-class organization, filled with dedicated people.”

A popular health expression these days is “Sitting is the New Smoking.” Peter is not sitting much, except when his client work requires it. He runs and does yoga. He serves on the board of the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce and is active in other organizations. He participates in a monthly food drive for the Father Smith Food Bank in Paterson. He’s told us that Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self” is a good fit for BVMI. We think it’s a good fit for him, too!
