Last year, we delivered 9,725 medical visits to 1,026 uninsured patients from 47 Bergen County communities. Many were women - mothers and caregivers - who depend on BVMI to stay healthy so they can care for their families and keep working.

BVMI's "Hometown Hero" - 

George Reskakis, DDS

In December, Rep. Josh Gottheimer recognized 20 outstanding Fifth District residents as Hometown Heroes.  We are delighted to share that BVMI volunteer George Reskakis, DDS, was among those honored.

George truly embodies the spirit of a hometown hero—humble, selfless, and deeply committed to the well-being of his community. Since retiring from dentistry, he has continued to share his professional expertise and compassionate heart through tireless volunteer service throughout Bergen County.

George’s generosity extends well beyond BVMI. He is a longtime land steward at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy, helping to protect and preserve this important community resource. He also serves on the board of the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce and volunteers as a SCORE mentor, supporting local entrepreneurs as they work to build and grow their small businesses.

Everyone at BVMI is incredibly grateful for George, who is always willing to step up and take on any challenge. Congratulations, George, on this well-deserved honor!
