This month it’s our pleasure to highlight BVMI volunteer and Nurse Practitioner, Victoria Eftychiou! Victoria has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as a practicing Registered Nurse for 33 years, and a practicing Adult Nurse Practitioner for more than 22 years. She has enjoyed providing primary care to a college-aged population both at Seton Hall University and currently at Montclair State University. She is active in New Jersey’s Nurse Practitioner organization and remains an advocate for advanced nursing practice. Victoria has been honored with the “Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year” by NJSNA-FNAP in 2007 and 2014, and more recently received the 2017 State Award of Excellence for New Jersey from AANP.
In addition to her many commitments, Victoria is an active volunteer at BVMI. In fact, before BVMI’s opening, Victoria helped with the recruitment of clinical volunteers. Since 2012, she has given the gift of her time and expertise weekly with a focus on women’s health services. As shared by Victoria, “I’m a cervical cancer survivor, and as such, have an active and pointed interest in women's health.” She has touched the lives of many of our patients – and ours – in more ways we could adequately convey. "We are lucky to have her and are grateful for her many contributions to BVMI and our patients," said Amanda Missey, BVMI's CEO. On behalf of our entire staff, volunteers, and most of all, our patients, we thank our friend and volunteer Victoria Eftychiou wholeheartedly for her compassion and commitment to the health of our patients.
