En enero de 2023, seis meses despu\u00e9s de su jubilaci\u00f3n, el Dr. Rubinoff empez\u00f3 a atender pacientes en la cl\u00ednica de BVMI. La atenci\u00f3n especializada y la dedicaci\u00f3n que brinda son un magn\u00edfico ejemplo de c\u00f3mo los profesionales de la salud colaboran para ayudar a nuestros pacientes a diario.<\/p><p>\u201cAl principio, colaboraba como voluntario dos veces al mes, atendiendo a dos o tres pacientes al d\u00eda; ahora colaboro tres o cuatro d\u00edas al mes y atiendo a cinco o seis pacientes diarios. En estos tiempos dif\u00edciles, siento que estoy haciendo algo importante para ayudar a los dem\u00e1s. Adem\u00e1s, mi tiempo en BVMI me permite mantenerme activo en el campo de la medicina durante mi jubilaci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo el Dr. Rubinoff.<\/p><p>Comparti\u00f3 la historia de una paciente que acudi\u00f3 a \u00e9l hace dos a\u00f1os con dolores abdominales tras haber sido atendida por su m\u00e9dico de cabecera, ya que los medicamentos habituales no le hac\u00edan efecto. Sospechando un problema de ves\u00edcula biliar, le realiz\u00f3 estudios de imagen que diagnosticaron c\u00e1lculos biliares y, posteriormente, facilit\u00f3 que se sometiera a una cirug\u00eda de ves\u00edcula biliar en el Hospital Englewood.<\/p><p>\u201cEn la pr\u00e1ctica privada, esto ser\u00eda m\u00e1s rutinario, pero en BVMI requiere coordinaci\u00f3n y cooperaci\u00f3n de hospitales dispuestos a ayudar a trav\u00e9s de sus programas de asistencia social\u201d, explic\u00f3 el Dr. Rubinoff. Sus esfuerzos valieron la pena y siguen beneficiando a nuestros pacientes.<\/p><p>\u201cEl dolor de la paciente ha desaparecido y se muestra muy agradecida cada vez que la veo.
